This inspiring documentary is about women warriors in their most fierce and intimate battle to overcome visible and invisible wounds ... a must see!" Alfie Alvarado-Ramos, Director, Washington State VA
After I had introduced Marcia to the folks with whom I created the play, Flashback, based on the book of the same name, and while I was working on a project called "the OK Moment" with the Student Veteran Club at Hunter, CUNY, in other words--before we launched SERVICE---Marcia went to Canyon de Chelly and filmed a story on Navajo veterans. She was invited by a Navajo veteran she met in New York through an NYU colleague who wrote the book, In Conflict. Marcia and Peter Williams got beautiful footage and stills that all were put on hold to work on SERVICE. Now that Service is fully launched she finished this story called Warriors Return. You will see in this beautiful short film, that the veterans are all men, but the woman warriors with them and the traditions of their culture are inextricably bound with their moving on. I welcome this film about another unique minority addressing challenges as veterans. It should be included here, on our Service home. I am honored to have worked on the music and - in my heart - I see this beautiful piece about an exquisite culture and the warriors within it, as one more journey towards providing more and more veterans with "OK Moments."
So I salute my Service Sister, Marcia.
